Bettina Magistretti studied in Berlin and as a scholarship holder at the IIT Chicago and the ETSAB Barcelona. In 1997 she graduated from the Technical University of Berlin. After her studies she worked for Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Genoa and Foster & Partners in Berlin.

She joined Sauerbruch Hutton in 2007. As project manager she is responsible for the planning and implementation of national and international competitions and projects. Her focus is on the undertakings of Sauerbruch Hutton in Italy. Her special expertise lies in dealing with historical and listed buildings and the harmonious integration of new buildings into a historical context. Bettina has been a partner since 2020 and an associate since 2023.
