Juan Lucas Young has been with sauerbruch hutton since 1990 and has served as a Partner and Managing Director since 1999. In addition to overseeing the firm's overall management, he is responsible for the design of numerous competitions and major national and international projects. He also acts as the project manager for a range of selected projects and leads interdisciplinary teams and joint ventures.

With his extensive experience in delivering large-scale projects, Juan Lucas is regularly invited as a keynote speaker at conferences and symposia worldwide. He also contributes as a guest critic and leads summer school programs at various universities. Until 2021, he was a member of the board of Fairtrag e.V. Juan Lucas completed his architecture studies in 1989 at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo.
